| FSU COLLEGE OF MEDICINE RECOGNIZED FOR PRODUCING FAMILY PHYSICIANS The Florida State University College of Medicine has been recognized as one of the top medical schools in the country for producing family physicians. | FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY NATION’S BEST IN BRIDGING RACIAL GRADUATION GAP While many colleges and universities are struggling with a so-called graduation gap, Florida State University is receiving national attention for its record high graduation rate of African-American students. More than 72 percent of African-American students -- who make up 12 percent of FSU’s student body -- graduate within six years, thanks largely to the efforts of FSU’s Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement (CARE). Nationally, fewer than half of African-American students who enroll in college graduate within six years. (May 9, 2008) |
| SWAMI YOGESHWARANANDA GIRI TO LECTURE ON BHAGAVAD GITA Swami Yogeshwarananda Giri, a hermit monk and holy man who lives an ascetic life in the Himalayan mountain range of northeastern India, will lecture at Florida State University during a brief stay in Tallahassee.
